Meet Dr. Owen Lund, DMD

Dr. Lund is a Renaissance man: Archaeologist, ski coach, expert juggler, massage therapist and, yes, DENTIST!

He loves dentistry because it blends so many of the skills he cultivates in his hobbies. Dentistry requires a meticulous attention to detail, devotion to academia and study, constant self evaluation, artistry and coordination, and offers a chance to improve lives and form lasting friendships with patients. This is why he is passionate about his quest to be the best possible dentist he can be.

Dr. Lund grew up in a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. After assisting in his father’s dental practice as a teenager, he branched away from dentistry to seek his own path, unaware he would soon be led back to the field his father devoted his life to. He graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a bachelor degree in Anthropology and minor in Archeology. Working as an archaeologist directly after his undergraduate training, he excavated, mitigated, and cataloged several significant archaeological sites. He received the highest possible certification as a ski coach and became a licensed sports massage therapist. The skills he learned as an archaeologist, ski coach, and massage therapist were carried through his education at Oregon Health & Science University, where he received a Doctorate in Dental Medicine.

Dr. Lund is an active member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental
Association, Multnomah Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. He is trained in the latest technology available and is always seeking further advancement through continuing education courses.

In his free time, Dr. Lund enjoys skiing, golfing, and juggling. As a teenager, he had aspirations of performing with Cirque du Soleil as a professional juggler. While this dream was never quite attained, he did develop near world class juggling abilities that he still practices as a hobby today. He’d be happy to demonstrate a trick or two if encouraged!
